The arriving of the book to the Brazilian lands, crossing for the first time the equator line into to the southern hemisphere of Earth, was in circumstances which, unfortunately, caused a major delay in the schedule set; despite the target of 80 days can not be achieved anymore (I got the book in the 78º day of the tour), the main reason for the delay was, I do confess, very particular: my family and I were embarking on that same day, for our annual vacation trip!
After a quick conversation with Fred, we decided that the best way was taking the book with me and let the "tour" of the city of Rio de Janeiro in the comeback; so, this now famous edition of "Around the world in 80 days", after travel thousands of miles and meet amazing and wonderful places like Portugal, England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Israel, India, China, Japan and the United States would know ... Búzios (Brazil)!

One of the most famous spas in Brazil, Armação dos Búzios is a peninsula surrounded by 8km of beaches and islands of all shapes and styles. What was already a small village of fishermen, today is a very charming place, where the majority of establishments are workshops, hotels, cafes, restaurants and sophisticated shops. Part of the mandatory is a visit to the famous Pedras Street and see the statue of the french actress and muse Brigitte Bardot. This artist of the 60's, attracted the attention of the press, artists and tourists around the world for the city, after several visits by its beautiful beaches.

Days later, we came back to Rio and began the tour turist/literary with the visit to the famous
Sugarloaf Mountain in the Bay of Guanabara, the postcard of the city; the
Museum of Contemporary Art in Niterói - whose design was by architect Oscar Niemeyer and that certainly would be approved by visionary Verne - and the famous
beach of Ipanema.

The "tour" continued by the following days, with the presence of our good friend Professor Edmar Guirra, a specialist in French, the translator of the texts of this journey and also a contributor of the magazine
Mundo Verne. With him, we visited the library of the
French Consulate in Rio de Janeiro, where we find various editions of original works of Verne; the beautiful
Portuguese Royal Cabinet of Reading, holder of one of the largest collections of literary from Brazil - see in pictures, the rich interior of the building - and the
Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio.

The book went also to the hill of Corcovado, where the gigantic statue of
Christ the Redeemer, elected in 2007 as one of the new seven wonders of the world, blessed our adventure and all who participated. Congratulations to all.

The book is now on the way to Portugal, for the reunion with the intellectual mentor of this great adventure, our great friend and one of the most active vernians on the planet:
Frederico Jácome. He, more than anyone, can be proud for have created a living proof of the famous phrase of Jules Verne:
"Anything one man can imagine, other men can make real."

L’arrivée du livre sur terres brésiliennes, en croisant par la première fois, depuis le début de ce voyage spectaculaire, la ligne de l’Equateur et en entrant dans l’hémisfère sud de la planète, s’est donée dans des circonstances qui, malheureusement, ont causé un grand retard dans le cronograme établi ; malgré l’objectif de faire ce voyage en 80 jours ne plus être atteint (j’ai reçu le livre dans le 78º jour du voyage), le principal motif du retard est, je vous l’avoue, très particulier: moi et ma famille partions, le même jour, pour notre voyage de vacances !
Après avoir consulté Fred, on a décidé de mener le livre avec nous et faire le tour dans la ville de Rio de Janeiro après être rentrer ; Ainsi cette déjà fameuse édition de
Le Tour du monde en quatre-vingts jours, après avoir parcouru des milliers de km et de connaître des coins fantastiques au Portugal, en Angleterre, en France, en Belgique, en Holande, en Polonie, en Inde, en Chine, au Japon et aux États Unis, irait connaitre... Búzios (Brésil)!

L’une de plus connues régions coté plages du Brésil, «Armação de Búzios» est une peninsule de 8km entourée d’îles et de plages de toutes sortes et styles. Ce qui a déjà été une petite ville de pêcheurs, actuellement, c’est un très charmant endroit, où la plupart du commerce sont des ateliers, des hôtels, des cafés, des restaurants et des boutiques de luxe. Ce qu’il ne faut pas râter sur la Rua das pedras (Rue des Pierres) c’est la visitation à la statue de l’actrice et star Brigitte Bardot . La compatriote de Verne dans les années soixante est la responsable d’attirer l’attention de la presse, des artistes et des touristes du monde entier vers ce coin, après plusieurs passages par ses belles plages.

Après quelques jours, on était rentré et on a commencé une promenade touristique/littéraire avec des visitations au très connu «
Pain de Sucre», dans la Baie de Guanabara, carte-postale de la ville; au
musée d’art contemporaine à Niterói, dont le projet est de la créatin de l’architecte Oscar Niemeyer qui, certes, Verne serait pour - e la fameuse
plage de Ipanema.

O tour a continué après quelques jours, avec la présence de notre grand ami professeur Edmar Guirra, spécialiste en langue française, traducteur des textes du blog et collaborateur du magazine
Mundo Verne. Avec lui on a visité la bibliothèque du
Consulat français à Rio de Janeiro, où on a trouvé plusieurs éditions
princeps des oeuvres de Verne ; Le très beau «
Real Gabinete Português de Leitura» qui possède l’un de plus grands fonds littéraires du Brésil – voyez les photos l’intérieur richissime de sa construction – et la
Cathédrale de Rio de Janeiro.

On a mené le livre sur le “Corcovado”, d’où la gigantesque statue du
Christ élue en 2007 comme l’une des sept merveilles du monde, a béni notre aventure et tous ce qui y ont participé. Nos félicitations à tous!

Le livre va vers le Portugal à la rencontre de notre génie, le créateur de cette aventure fantastique, notre grand ami et l’un des verniens le plus actifs de la planète: Frederico Jácome. Lui, plus que personne, peut être fier d’avoir crée une preuve vif de la célèbre phrase de Verne:
“Tout ce qu’un homme est capable d’imaginer, d’autres hommes seront capables de le réaliser.”
